Blessings from Above

A picture of what Christ meant when He said we should be like children in our faith.
Throw your head back, stick your tongue out, be open to what comes.  Like falling snow, each flake crafted through the harsh conditions it requires to be seen, softly landing in the place it was meant to be, so are God's plans. We can have joy and be thankful for the good we know with all our heart is coming because His Word tells us so.  He says, so lovingly, "I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

We should stand confident in the days we feel our hearts may be subject to frost bite or even a hard freeze knowing that we are wrapped in His love.  Like a down coat protecting us from the cold harsh conditions we live in in the winter months, so is His Word protecting our hearts from destruction in the hard seasons of life.  If we take what He has given us and put it on, use it against "all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander..." we should be at peace.  Warmed to the core.  A little evidence of where we've been standing, what we've been through, may stick to the fur on our hoods where everyone can see it's attempt at getting through, but it doesn't slip past that protective barrier.  It was uncomfortable, sometimes enough to want to remove it, but knowing it's benefit was far greater than the hurt attached to it, it finally melts and all that's left is a memory of what that time was like and how God was with us every step we took.  Every red faced moment we had, every time we stuck out our tongue, every snow flake we noticed, every layer we wrapped ourselves tightly in, every raw moment we stood strong on the ice with faith that God would not let us fall.
